I emailed SteinAir to ask for any input they may have as to why the PFD is suddenly flashing error codes? This is new & since the panel had not been powered up in the last thirty+ days, I was puzzled. This did not occur prior to that time.
Josh from SteinAir replied: Strangely enough, I think this is caused by something simple. What's your battery voltage at? It was 11.8, I replied. That's certainly your issue, Josh stated. Anything under 12v is pretty much a dead battery. You're only a few tenths of a volt away from your IBBS emergency battery kicking on. The voltage is likely just marginal enough to keep stuff on but as it's running through the GEA24, the voltage must be dropping off enough that the sensors are not getting a reliable voltage.
I removed Vans stock battery & took it to two different shops for testing: Auto Zone & Advanced Auto Parts. I do not believe either shop really knew what they were doing with an AGM battery. Never-the-less, one load tester showed 12.6 v & 170 CCA but had a "Replace" message. The other shop showed 12.8v with 168 CCA with no message to replace.
UPDATE: Decided to stop at NTW to have them check the replaced battery. It came back as "REPLACE" due to its inability to hold a stable amount of CCA. Since they tested it under load, I feel better that the battery is indeed my problem. I will find out for sure tomorrow. TIP: a basic voltmeter & a simple load handheld meter is NOT a reliable measuring tool for an AGM battery.
Noting that my current battery was shipped by Vans ~5 years ago, I questioned its reliability. I ordered another battery - which arrived yesterday. This morning, I installed it & placed it on the Battery Tender 4A trickle charger. I also Adel clamped an oil line hose that I felt could use a bit more support.
