Oct. 29, 2020. Continuing on with the replacement of rivets for bolts—this time on the left side. Access is very limited with wiring and fuel lines located on the left side. I was able to stand on a tall step stool and turn my shoulders sideways and squeeze thru the baggage opening enough to drill out the rivets. The aft most rivet was the hardest. The second was easier. Tomorrow I hope to finish up the remaining 2 rivets.

Oct. 30, 2020. I finished up the last rivets to bolts on the left side. A bit of a pain, but mission accomplished. I vacuumed out all the shavings in the floor—also reached thru the holes in the firewall to vacuum out the rivet heads and shavings underneath the floor. Reconnected battery wire which I had to remove for access to forward 2 rivets. Installed the forward baggage floor. Tomorrow, I’ll caulk around the hole plugs and get them installed. Then, I can install the cowling and go flying again!
