Odd month.
Intense heat (over 100 deg) most days.
I was going to rent a Y'all Haul trailer to take the plane to my hangar at KGKY, bu then out of the blue fellow EAA Chapter 34 member Walt Beulieu called to say he was enroute back home with a new airplane. On a trailer. And we could use that trailer and have him drive it from my house to the airport! WooHoo.
I should pause to note that in addition to the heat, our lives have been in turmoil since #2 son decided to buy the estate across from us, so there's been a lot of activity helping him paint the new place, patch some items, etc.
Anyway, since the temps are so high, Walt showed up at my house at 7 AM. Our 2 sons met us as well, and we loaded the plane onto his (borrowed) trailer.
Since the boys couldn't help unload, fellow Chapter member Tim Falkofske met us at the airport to offload from the trailer.
We screwed some wood chocks into the trailer deck and secured each of the mail landing gear wheels and the nose wheel to the trailer with ratchet straps. They held secure, so no damage in transit.
