Brief Description:  Trim Door fit and first trim of cowl

First of two posts for this day.

It was 102 deg today. Chilly. The past few months have been a challenge getting anything done. I installed the windshield on May 16th, and then wanted to get the plane transported to the hangar. Unfortunately, after the windshield was installed, we headed to Kansas for a bit, so nothing was done then.

Upon our return, I started looking for trailers to take the plane to the hangar. Not so simple because the wheels are 78" wide, and most trailers are 72". Finally found that a UHaul trailer would work, but then I couldn't book a reservation because helpers were unable to commit to a hard date.

Finally, a member of our local EAA Chapter called to say he had borrowed a trailer and was bringing a new plane home with it. I could use the trailer before he had to return it. WooHoo.

Of course, once in the hangar, we left town again for the 4th of July holiday, and just got back last week. #2 son closed on a new house, so moving and painting activities took preecendence.

So anyway was the first real work day since May 16th. Even with the heat it felt good.

When I installed the doors originally, the trim piece on the windshield post had not yet been installed. So, of course, I had to trim the plexi a bit. This took a lot of on and off trial and error. Finally got bot doors adjusted. Compunding this is that the hinge pins holding the door in place are super tight. Tried multiple times to spin them in a drill and burnish them with scotchbrite, but still not much relief. Brought 2 of the 4 home to keep trying.
