Brief Description:  Flaperon rigging / misc other

Varied tasks.

Prior riveting on the left wing (before I ran out of oil...) resulted in some rivets being pulled "long" where the stem did not snap off below the shop factory head. Brought some HD cutters, trimmed them, then used a drum sander to get rid of the 1/32" burr.

Installed snap vents in the door glass. Tried a few days ago, but I was not wanting to push them further, fearing that I'd crack the window (big $$$). It was a warm day today, so I put the vents on the back window of my car (tinted, so it was dark, i.e., hot) and they went in. Still had to flex them quite a bit, but overall felt better about it.

Made a lot of measurements on getting the flaperons rigged. I'm getting plenty of down travel, but "up" is limited on both sides. As another builder said, better to walk away and calm down, then think about it. Wise words. I had previously installed the L angle stops that abut the mixer rod tab. The instructions say to not install them until after the flaperons are rigged. I think this may have something to do with it, as it feels like the mixer tab is hitting them. Additionally, other builders have said that they've had to trim the TOP of the "banana slot". I know that the bushing on the vertical rod is hitting the top, but wasn't concerned when I discovered that, because I had not yet done any measurements. So now I know I have two areas to work.

Lastly, I finished riveting the top front half of the left wing inner root skins.
