Started out trying to put a Dzus retainer clip on my oil filler door; I got the wrong size, but still thought I could wrrassle it into position. No good. Will order new. sigh.
Next, installed the lower elevator cable pulley int he fuselage. This is mounted inside the fuselage, so measuring location is a bit of a guesstimate.. I made a template from the existing rivet holes in the L angle and pulley brackets. Once that was done, you flip it over left to right and can then drille the holes from the top, outside of the fuselage since the holes will now match. Then it's just a simle holding of the assembly inside the fuselage, and cleco in place. Riveted the assembly. Just before final rivet, I added some safety wire to the two holes on the top of the pulley brackets. This keeps the cable from popping out of the pullet grooves.
Re-positioined the horizontal stabilizer and cleco'd in place. This was to set the position of the upper pulley assembly. I really needed to put the elevator in position, but with the afternoon sun I could not see the piano hinge receptacles. It was getting late, so I called it a day to attend our local Chapter meeting.
