Frustrating, $$$ day....
Locked the mag in position with the timing pin. Lined up the crank with 28 BTDC timing mark. Installed mag. Lightly tightened mag hold downs.
Installed timing pin in the right mag. Installed that into accessory case.
Got out the sync tool that indicates when both mags are synched. Spun the engine by hand a bit to check out the lights.
Did you notice that I didn't mention removing the timing pin? That messes up the nylon gear inside the distributor, so had to remove the right mag and prep it for shipment to the magneto shop to fix my screwup.
Installed starter. Used only one bolt to hold in place until I get the mag issue resolved.
Installed the gaskets then installed the 4 intake manifold elbows.
