I set out to install the crank and cam in the engine case and mate the halves, then torque everything together.
Smooth progress. Coated both case halves with sealant as spec'd in the M-O manual, then applied silk thread as required.
Cleaned the lifter bodies and camshaft. Lubed the lifter bodies and installed in the case. Applied assembly lube to the lifter faces. Applied assembly lube to the cam lobes. Lubed the bearing surfaces and installed cam.
Installed crank bearings in the case as well as the front oil seal on the crank nose. Installed crank in the case. Lowered the other case half in place, and installed hardware. Torqued bolts.
Then discovered I left-out the starter pinion bearing block. Will all have to come apart to install.
