Last night I up-drilled the forward and aft toque tube bearing assemblies to allow installation of the prefab rudder cables I ordered to replace the build-yer-own.
I was a bit concerned with the nomenclature on the labels as there were words like "left cable at the pedals." Well, looking at the cables, the left cable is actually for the right rudder actuation etc. Emails and phone calls to Zenith helped me feel comfortable that I had the correct cables in the correct holes.
Today I determined the correct assembly order, then started slipping parts over the cables. I had to heat-up the forward bearing block fairlead material as it didn't bend easily due to its thickness. Obtained a second pair of hands which helped make light work of it.
Reinstalled the forward bearing pieces and first bolted the forward bracket to the L angles riveted to the forward seat support. Then I bolted the bearing, bearing backer, and fairlead material.
