Brief Description:  Left wing fwd root skin

Well, it's been awhile; lots of travel and other higher priorities, plus, over 1 foot of rain over 2 wks time. Since this part of the wing is right next to the garage door, and the door has to be open to get to it, that kind of dampened things (get it?).

Anyway, basically finished the fitting of the root nose skin. Was able to adjust the fitting, add some additional reinforcement rivets, file a bit of the skin along the butt joint with the main skin, and it fits relatively well!

Since this is a replacement skin, I ordered it with the aft edge un-drilled. Had to back-drill the lower attach holes, then updrill to final #20 size.

Just need to remove, deburr, check again, and call it good. This skin, plus the associated upper root skin, are not riveted until the wings are installed since fuel lines, electrical, and flaperon rigging must be done first. Glad to be done with this wing. Construction took hardly any time, but was just spread over more months than I wanted.
