Brief Description: Finesse Pitot Tube / Clean FOD / clamp skins for r
I was still concerned about the routing of the pitot/static plastic tubing, so continued to work on it. Slipped the 1/4" ID clear tubing over the 1/4" OD pitot tubing and safety-wired to clamp it tight. Wound safety wire around the tubing for about an inch to act as a "bending spring" to keep the vinyl tube from kinking. Slid the wing almost off the table to test-fit how the tubing would be pushed up in the wing when installing the pitot tube assy from underneath.
Cut a piece of hose, slit it, and wrapped around the two tubes to provide chafe protection from a lightening hole in the nose rib.
Finally satisfied, I cleaned out all the FOD drill chips in the nose rib bays, recentered the wing on the table, shimmed it, and verified there was no twist to the wing.
Using ratchet straps, folded the leading edge skins back into position, cleco'd and cleco'd the main spar. Just about ran out of cleco's!! Tomorrow we'll rivet!
