Brief Description:  Gear Fairings / Fuel Placards / Spar Tunnel Rivets

In no special order:

1. Installed fuel placard. Used the EAA kit-supplied placard, and used my "white-on-clear" ptouch labeller to add the fuel grade and quantity.

2. Borrowed my neighbor's rivet gun; tested its ability to buck the rivets into the countersunk underside; had to trim the rivets just a hair. Bucked 6 rivets (3 each side). Had to drill-out and replace one (head deformed).

3. Duh. Yesterday I thought I had a confilct with the brake lever on the wheel hitting the leg fairings. Today, I removed it, lowered it by rotating one notch on the "star" opening, and voila it fit perfectly. Yet another reason to not work when you're tired or at the end of the day.

4. Heated one of the leg fairings again to remove some of the stiffness. Did it yesterday, but rushed it; had quite a bit of spring to it compared to the other side.

5. With the repositioned brake lever, I could test the brakes. The cable hit the fairing. Removed fairings and trimmed. Reinstalled. Noted points on fuse & wheelpant where hinge pins are supposed to have holes drilled to secure the fairings from twisting. Marked and drilled. Reinstalled fairings; had to "adjust" the hole on the upper right.

6. Looked in the fuselage; climbed in and marked the trim line to remove excess material from the upper hinge pins.
