Brief Description: Swinging the Compass

It's been a long time since I've worked on the plane. We were out of town for a full week to see the Cactus Fly-In in Casa Grande AZ, along with Texas Rangers Spring Training. Then, upon our return, we had a medical emergency with our miniature Dacshund, then I had an intestinal bug for a few days. Sheesh....
So today I decided I'd swing the compass. I am using a Falcon vertical card compass to give me that "DG" feel.
First up was finding a spot on the Sonex where a magnetic compass would not be affected by electrical impulses, iron-based metals, etc. I settled upon the forward windshield. Fortunately, it was still covered with the protective wrap, so I ran a line from cowl centerline to windshield bow centerline, both of which I previosly had marked. I then drew a line on the w/shield covering for the centerline.
Due to the slope of the w/shield, I used a block of aluminum to keep the compass level in a level-flight attitude, showin in pics 1 & 2 below.
I then swung the airplane in 30 deg increments (0, 30, 60, 90, etc.) until all the way around to 360/0. I had to adjust the vertical card compass a few times, but all headings are within 3 degrees of the reference heading, so I'm good.
I then went back and rechecked N, S, E, W positions to ensure nothing changed in the interim.
