Started to work on the plane yesterday; was going to work comm antenna routing. Got out the parts to crimp a BNC connector onto the cable I had. Unfortunately, the cable center conductor was multi-strand RG58A/U, but the connector was for solid-core RG58. That, plus we had to go to the Rangers' first ALDS playoff game in the afternoon (we lost); kind of shot the day.
Today I stopped at Fry's and obtained the correct BNC connectors. Got home; crimped on one end. Attached to antenna, then started running cable. Had to drill holes thru the turtledeck former and the #1 aft fuse vertical channel and install grommets to not chafe the cable. Applied cable mounts to the inner fuselage skin and cable-tied the cable in place. Have to determine final length before installing second BNC connector.
Routed the transponder antenna cable; ran out of cable ties while doing so.
Torqued the prop in a criss-cross fashion. Checked prop tracking; dead-on.
