Brief Description:  Timing Check & Throttle Cable Checkout

Did more than I thought I'd get done.

Obtained some M6x16 panhead screws today at Home Depot. Spec calls for 12mm length, but of course, it was either 10's, 16s, or 20s. So I checked the screws to see if they bottomed-out anywhere, and luckily, they fit fine. 4 of them hold the side fence baffle to bosses in the tops of the cylinder heads, and the other 4 hold the lower oil cooler fence baffle to the lower engine case.

Last night when I was installing the intake manifold, the mount bracket initially put quite a bit of a side load on the lower magnatron, so I was concerned that it might have disrupted the magnatron-to-flywheel magnet clearance. I re-checked that tonight, and it was still spot-on.

I then thought I'd see how well the throttle & mixture cables fit. The mixture must be cut to length, so it was fine. Initial thoughts on the throttle cable, however, was that I had a problem - it just didn't seem long enough. I re-checked the AeroCarb manual to see if the carb orientation was wrong (wasn't). Finally saw in the AeroCarb photos that the factory birds have their cables run just like mine in pic 2 below, so I guess I'm OK.

Spent smoe time expanding the cable mounting block sleeve to get it to accept the cable. Reamed it out to 1/4" and it fit just fine (reamed to clean it up after I spread it with some screwdrivers).

NOTE: The carb is supposed to be safety-wired to the intake. I just haven't done it yet.
