Brief Description:  Intake & Carb fitting

Once the baffle was complete, I then finished installing the intake manifold.

At first, it appeared that I drilled the holes in the baffle incorrectly, cuz the manifold did not line up properly. A second glance showed that the baffle holes matched the intake elbows, then I remembered that the first time I installed the manifold, I had to "push" on one side a bit to get it to insert into the rubber joint connector.

Since I also received a video from Sonex showing that you can bend the exhaust headers if they're too tight on the heads, I figured you can do the same with the intake - and it worked! Once bent very slightly, the manifold fit thru the baffle and into the manifold connectors just right.

I then finished the bending the the lower intake bracket - this secures the carb end of the manifold to the engine block. Adjusted the bend just a bit more, then drilled a 5/16" hole for the case bolt to go through. Torqued to 13 ft lbs as per spec. The end result is in the first pic below.

Lastly, I installed the carb and air cleaner, just to seal off the intake.
