Brief Description: Wing Tip / Panel Labels / AHRS Mount
Measured, marked, and trimmed the left wing fiberglass wingtop. Trimmed with a cutoff wheel in the dremel tool. Spent some time trying to figure out how to mount the position light pods. Will probably get some help from friends wtih better 'glass skills.
Found a copy shop (FedEx Office) that ill make ready-to-apply labels. Spent some time creating a powerpoint slide of the panel layout to verify spacing, determine the number of letters I want to use, etc. 10 point font looks good and is uncluttered. Now to see how much it will run. I think it will be expensive.
Lastly, I finished the attitude & horizon reference system (AHRS) which is a solid state gyro assembly for use with the Enigma EFIS. I had previously made the "pad" on which the AHRS will rest; tonight I fabricated a bracket, chose the mounting location close to centerline of the aircraft, and mounted it. I only riveted the support bracket thru the bottom of the fuselage so that I can remove the mount pad while I'm climbing in and out of the cockpit doing the wiring. I also secured the AHRS to the pad with velcro hook and loop fastener.
