Brief Description:  Upper Firewall Install / Fuel Tank Vent Install

Obtained steel brake line as suggested by Sonex, along with 1/4" fuel hose and clamps to create the fuel tank vent.

Made initial curve in the line to determine location of securing clamp on the upper firewall. Because there's no way to get to the backside of the upper firewall, I had to first locate the clamp position, then drill and install a nutplate so that I could install the vent line clamp after the firewall was riveted into position.

Next, I positioned and riveted the upper firewall, closing everything up for good. Had to use the slimline manual riveter for the outboard upper glareshield attach angle holes due to lack of space.

Once the firewall was installed, I initially placed the fuel vent line. Ran it into the connection at the tank and secured with the upper firewall clamp. I then bent the line down around the air/oil separator down to the gascolator area. The plans suggest that the vent go thru the same hole as the gascolator drain; in the bottom part of pic 3 below you can see the line running alongside the gascolator. Located and installed a second clamp for the line in the area of the motor mount.
