It's been busy the past few evenings, so it felt good to get my hands on the project again. Had a dinner Monday night, Tuesday night was our Chapter board meeting, and it was bloody cold Sunday.
Tonight I drilled-out the rivets for the forward-most vertical channel in the aft fuselage. The plans plainly state to rivet these later, but... This channel must be free to allow insertion of the elevator control tube during tail rigging.
Speaking of tail rigging, once I drilled-out that channel, I marked up the aft fuse and the horizontal stab centerlines in preparation for locating the horizontal stab, possibly as early as this weekend. Maybe not, though, as my EFIS arrives tomorrow, and I want to run the final RDAC to EFIS cable thru the firewall.
Lastly, since I was inside the fuse, I figured that, like all builders, I had to get the obligatory shot of me sitting in the left seat. The sling is not in, but otherwise is close enough!
