Brief Description: Panel / Cross Member / Glareshield
A frustrating day.
Noticed on the plans when I was reviewing in general that I should not have riveted the forward vertical support for the elevator control rod. Seems like there's now no way to install the rod unless I drill out the rivets to allow the support to be free during installation. *sigh*
Finished fabrication of the instrument panel lower cross member. This required bending one side of the flange to 30 degrees to match the panel tilt, and cutting the other flange down to 1/4". I then had to trim angles on each end to fit the glareshield.
Next, I bent the flanges for the instrument panel - each side to 66 degrees, and the top to 60 degrees. This wasn't as simple as it could be due to interference from each side on the bending brake. Panel a bit rougher than I'd like, but once installed and painted will be just fine.

Spent a lot of time figuring out how the panel cross member would mount, and how to clamp it during trial fitment. Never did figure out how to clamp it. Everything is fitted relative to the panel distance from the forward wing attach angles so I guess I just need another 6 hande.
