Brief Description:  Buffing Tail Tips / Cowl Re-Fit / Cowl Southco's

Compounded the right tail tip. Want to wait another day or two befoe buffing the left tip since the lower paint was touched up yesterday. Waxed the vertical and right horizontal tips. Removed newspaper masking material and cleaned up fuselage from 1-2 areas of light overspray, polishing compound over-fling, etc. Tail looks pretty good. Will look much better when I finally get around to obtaining some "S" grade finishing polish from NuVite.

I had previously had problems fitting the cowl after installation of the "P" gasket baffle seal. Yesterday I removed the front lower section of baffle, and I could get the cowl on. Last night I worked on cutting some "V"s in the seal where it made 90 deg. angles on the baffle and inserted some strategic slices in the material to help it compress easier in the corners.

Re-installed it today and the cowl is tight, but I could get it on by myself, essential for field service.

Lastly, I dug out the various lengths of Southco fasteners. Painted the bat wing Southco that will secure the fuel door. Installed the no-mar washers and popout springs on the other Southco studs and installed in the cowl.
