Brief Description:  More Painting

OK; first off, Unless I'm working on a new area or have made significant progress, I'm not going to post if the content of the post will be "sanded some runs; waiting a few days for it to cure" or "painted another coat or clearcoat; waiting a few days for it to cure."

Only cuz a few of you have been nagging about not seeing any progress does not mean there has not been any progress; it's just tedious waiting for the cement to set.

Also, because of masking paper (see pic 1), I cannot do anything in the cockpit until the turtledeck formers are done. There really isn't much of anything else left to do....

Received my official FAA registration card yesterday. I'm now legal to put on my N-number.

We were up in KS for 5-6 days, so the paint should have cured sufficiently to keep it from crazing. Seems to have worked. Pic 2 shows the nefarious right wingtip; I shot it with some more color coat, then, within the hour limit spec'd on the can, I shot it with clearcoat. Very nice. Both wingtips essentially done now, except for the compounding. I'll wet-sand each with 400 grit, then let them breath for a few days before compounding.

Both wheel pants also ready for compound. Touched up a spot or two on the right pant today as well; will wet-sand in a day or two, then compound those as well.

Re-color-coated the turtledeck formers after the dreaded crazing. Also shot a coat of clearcoat; will wait a few days, sand (unfortunately, can't wet-sand this location....), then compound.

Wet-sanded and applied a second color-coat to the left cowl half. Wet sanded the right cowl and shot with clearcoat. As with the others, will allow a few days to cure, then will wet sand and touch up or compound.
