Brief Description:  Spar Tunnel Riveting / Control Rod prep

Well, it's been a few days. All day Saturday we were involved in a Boy Scout Aviation Merit Badge event at the local aerospace contractor. From 0830 until after 4 PM we made presentations about EAA, piloting, and homebuilding. We then sat and answered questions and handed out Young Eagle information. Exhausting! Then Sunday, after church, we went to the final Rangers' game of the regular season, then dinner with our son, then our other son arrived after completing his ExpressJet training in Houston. He now be an airline pilot.

Today I finished riveting the inside (tunnel) surface of the aft spar tunnel. This was a slow-go, as it had to be manually pulled, and of course, some rivets had to be re-done because I could not get a straight shot at some of the more unreachable rivet holes. All that remains now is to buck 3 solid rivets on each end of the top surface of the spar tunnel and it's done.

Spent quite a bit of time readying the control sticks, idler rod, and adjustment rod for the elevator. This required removing powder coating from 5 bearing holes, reaming the holes to allow an oilite bearing to rotate within the surface, and shaving down the thickness of the rod ends to correctly fit the width of the oilite bearings. Painted the ends where I removed powder coating.
