Brief Description:  Left Side Cowl Initial Fitting

Before I started drilling hinges on the right cowl, I thought I'd test-fit the left side just to see how much, if any, gap would exist on the lower centerline, since it looked like there might be a problem.

I cut the prop hub hole and the gear leg access notch, and started test-fitting. Had to re-adjust both the hub and gear trimming just a bit.

The left side definitely fits different from the right. It appears that there won't be near the same 7/8" trim distance on the aft edge side piece. Close, but not there. Seems to be a bit of interference at the front; unsure if the oil pan cooler needs to be trimmed a bit; the left side oil line definitely was in the way, but that is going to be re-done anyway because it's a bit too short right now.

I also put the right side of the cowl on. Since it's hard to tell how close to the centerline the left side will fit until the aft edge is trimmed, at this point, I think it will fit OK; pretty close to the centerline, and I can usually gain about 1/4" by trimming that aft edge.

I was getting frustrated, and the bugs were starting to come into the shop (nighttime / light on), so before I got frustrated like last week, I wrapped it up for the night.
