Brief Description:  IT'S ALIIIIIVE....

Finished wiring the panel-to-fuselage (well almost) today. Still have to add short connector lengths for the 3 lighting circuits running to each wing. Also have to run wires to the backup battery.

Installed the battery. Connected the negative lead. Judiciously touched the positive lead to the battery post. Hmmm... No sparks. Fastened the positive lead. Flipped the master to the "battery" position. The master solenoid clicked - good. The "alt warning" light came on - good. Flipped the master to the "alt" position - warning light went out. Wow. Turned on the comm tranceiver (attached a rubber ducky antenna just to ensure no RF issues). It went through its self-test and displayed frequencies. Turned on the transponder, but had it in standby mode. Powered up, went thru its self test, displayed standby status and two dummy squawk codes (2222 and 4444).

Turned it off; installed a fuse in the Enigma circuit (Enigma does not have an on-off switch, so I have mine wired hot to the master switch). Turned it back on, and the Enigma powered up. The master caution light came on (cuz I - duh - have no oil pressure). ACK'd the caution; light went out, but red LED on the panel stayed on - as per design.

Touched the starter button for a split second. Starter engaged!

Spent rest of time running harness on the right side of fuselage. Very trying to be draped over the spar tunnel, twisted, trying to position cable ties!

Made up the harness for the AHRS, which is mounted under the seat. Connected power to the secure power supply on the Enigma.

Figured out where I was going to mount the backup battery (pic 3). Fabricated hinge sections to secure it to the side rail.
