Brief Description:  EGT Finish / Lower Plugs / Fuel Sensor

Spent some time checking out / measuring the prop hub spacer sent to me by another builder (Thanks, Jay!). Fits great, so that's one less thing I have to do when I start the cowl soon.

Trimmed a bit more on the right side front fence baffle pieces that I started the other night to see if there would be any interference with the EGT probes on the front cylinders. Once I was done trimming, I marked and drilled holes in the exhaust headers for the left side EGT probes. Did not install because I still have to remove the headers to install the flange gaskets. Additionally, I have to trim the ends of the pipes to get the extensions to fit properly near the firewall.

I then installed the lower 4 sparkplug wires. Sonex/AeroConversions sends you two complete sets, with the expectation that one will remain as a spare. Each set comes as a set of two wires, with plug ends and boots on each end. You cut them somewhere near the middle to obtain 4 leads. You then manually strip the plug wire insulation down to the center conductor, install the boot, and crimp-on the terminal that will go into the coils. You can't just cut right in the middle, as each one is slightly different in length. Some seem tighter than others, but if it's good enough for Sonex....

After the plug wires, I located the fuel sending unit logic box. This is a small powered box that takes power and ground from the Enigma secure supply, and fits between the sender and the RDAC. It converts the capacitance from the sending unit into units of measure that the RDAC can convert into fuel level. Mounted it on the right fuse side by the fuel tank. Marked and drilled 3/16" holes and secured with machine screws.
