Completed wiring the upper magnetron p-lead and ground connection. Worked the other night and it was quite frustrating.

For "run" operation, the p-lead is not grounded. To turn "off" the engine, you ground the p-leads, just like a regular certificated aircraft magneto. The easiest way for this is to use a shielded conductor - this way, in the "run"position, any RF energy radiated by the p-lead is grounded to the engine by the shield. When you turn "off" the mags, the shield is then grounded to the p-lead.

This wiring required about 4 tries with wasted terminals to finally get the lengths right, and to provide some stress relief with shrink tubing and electrical tape. Once this was done, I began stripping the insulation off the bottom magnetron p-lead, but will finish that up the next time I'm out in the shop. Extremely cold tonight - the low is supposed to be about 12 deg F. My propane heater only got the temp up to 50 F after two hours of burning. This may be nothing to you Northerners, but once you get used to the warmer climate, it's tough to face it!

Received the 5/16" battery cable terminal ends the other day, so I swaged them onto the cables - one end of each cable. I'm now done fabricating the cables. All 3 of these are ground cables - from the battery to the firewall ground block, from the starter mount to the firewall block, and from the other starter mount to the engine block. I should have a well-grounded system as a result.
