Brief Description: Install Secondary Ignition Trigger & Alt Stator
The engine can now be installed onto the motor mount.
Tonight I installed the secondary ignition trigger plate assembly.
Next, I installed the alternator stator to the secondary ignition pickup coil plate. As per instructions, I "painted" the rotor magnets and the stator with a permanent magnet. I installed it (wow, those magnets are strong!) and rotated the crank 3-4 revolutions. I then removed the plate assy to see if any of the painted areas were rubbed off, which would indicate the stator had to be sanded-down a bit. No interference. I then reinstalled the plate assy and used LocTite 242 on the cap screws.
I was going to next install the intake manifold, butI am missing one of the nuts that holds down the intake. Will contact Sonex.
At this point I can install the engine and finish up anything else after that (starter install, exhaust manifold fit, wiring, etc.)
