Finished shaping the lock plate assembly and the lock handle. Drilled 1/4"" holes for the padlock to keep the canopy locked when parked, and marked & drilled rivet holes holding the two parts together (top row in pic below). Deburred and riveted. Touched up fit to make the sides match.
Cut canopy rail pieces to length.
Cut longeron hinge piece to length from P3 hinge material. Still need to measure and drill rivet holes.
Cut and angled the canopy counterpart to the longeron hinge. Made good progress, then, when I was marking the rivet hole locations, discovered that I was supposed to make *this* piece from P4 hinge, not P3 as I had used. To the scrap heap. Re-fab'd the part from correct P4 hinge.

Fabricated the fore and aft canopy latch spring retainer clips (these are the tiny things in the 2nd row in the pic below).
