Brief Description:  Fitting of Canopy Cross-Bow

Tonight I installed the cross-bow brace for the canopy frame.

I performed the final adjustment/alignment of the aft canopy bow to ensure eveness all the way around.

Next, I began by cutting the 1/2"" square tube to the correct length as per plans. Using a helper, I then positioned the top edge of the bar 9.75"" below the top of the aft bow. Holding in place, we used a level to ensure all was well, then marked the bar's position in relation to the bow.

Next, we positioned the forward gussets into position on the bow and brace, ensuring that the bow remained in alignment, and pilot drilled both gussets. I then removed the rear bow and positioned and pilot-drilled the rear gussets and cleco'd into position. (Gussets are part of the kit.)

Still have to up-drill, deburr, and rivet the crossbow. Once that's riveted, then it's time to remove the canopy frame, deburr it, and rivet that as well. Will probably spray paint it this weekend.
