Brief Description:  Canopy Frame, Xpndr Antenna, AHRS Mounting

Pushed the plane outside today to catch what little breeze there might be.

Cleaned up the cockpit since it had been awhile since I had vacuumed-out drilling chips. When I removed the MDF board that I had placed in the cockpit for working/kneeling in there, it became evident that the spot I *thought* I could use to mount the SP-4 AHRS gyro assembly for the Enigma would not work. It looks like I'll have to mount it further aft (by 6") and about 2" to the right of centerline, which should be OK in the grand scheme of things. Consulted with the folks on Sonextalk discussion group, and this is the location that most of them use. Now I just have to decide if I want to mount it low or higher.

Next, I had previously mounted the transponder antenna, but today I fabricated a doubler plate. Found a scrap piece of circular aluminum that was one of the cutouts from the control stick holes in the seat. Already had a center hole, so I just enlarged, deburred, and re-mounted.

Lastly, spent some time doing final fit/trimming of the aft canopy bow. Jigged everything up for the correct spacing in relation to the turtledeck and pilot-drilled the rivet holes in the corner angles. Up-drilled all rivet holes in the fore and aft bows, and cleco'd. Tested open-ability of the frame, and all checks out well. Still have to make one final adjustment in the aft bow curvature, install the cross piece for stability, then rivet it all together.
