Brief Description: Tail HW / File Stop Plate / Work Elevator Bushing
Filed the aft-most edge of the left rudder stop. The hard-90 deg angle of the plate was slightly catching on the rudder control horn, so I eliminated the interference.
Next, I worked to install the SF-812-3 oil-impregnated bushing into the end of the elevator control rod that attached to the elevator control horn. This required removing the powder coating from the inside of the control rod hole. Also had to lightly sand down one side of the control rod to otain the .0005 clearance between the control rod and the control horn. The bushing actually rotates within the control rod, so it has to be slightly longer than the control rod to allow it to be clamped tightly to the control horn.
Lastly, I installed 12 AN3 bolts of both AN7 and AN6 lengths to secure the aft vertical stab spar to the aft channel of the fuselage. Access was only by a 4.5" hole in the right side fuselage panel and from underneath. Torqued all HW to correct specs.
