Brief Description:  Fuel Line / Air-Oil Separator

I had previously marked locations on the inside firewall to visually spot the fuel line so that it would enter the tank fitting correctly. Today I bent the fuel line to fit. First made the 90 deg bend from the gascolator over to the centerline of the airframe. Added another 90 deg bend to point towards the tank. This was problematic, since it was right up against the rudder pedals, and was also off the centerline of the fuel tank. Did two 45 deg bends to jog the line back over to the centerline.

Used the flaring tool I borrowed from my neighbor (Thanks, John!) to flare the gascolator connection. Once this was tacked into place thru the firewall, I measured the distance required to meet the shutoff valve in the tank. marked the line, cut it, deburred, and flared it. It might be a bit tight once the tank is finally installed, but it will be easy to readjust if needed.

The air/oil separator instructions state that it can be mounted with either AN hardware or rivets. I chose rivets. I do not intend to plumb the return line back to the engine. Well, at least, not at this point in time. If you *do* wish to do this, the separator must be mounted above the oil level of the engine. I re-mounted the engine mount to ensure I had clearance, and marked the location of the separator. Drilled, deburred, and riveted into place.
