Received my engine kit today! Ordered it during the Sonex Open House prior to AirVenture 2009 to get the free Nikasil cylinder upgrade.
The cylinders / pistons are still backordered, so Sonex asked if they could ship the kit out now anyway (guess they're getting backed up a bit with the warehouse space...). Only other part backordered was the dipstick assy.
Unpacked the boxes and inventoried each part, same as was done for the airframe kit. Everything matched! Funny - when I was a kid in high school and we'd o/haul a VW engine, I don't remember there being so many parts....!
In addition to the basic engine kit, I ordered the exhaust kit, the laser-cut cylinder baffles, the oil pressure and temp sensors, the air filter, and the AeroVee oil separator.
