Brief Description: Locate / Pilot Drill Floor Stiffener & Gusset
Short time, but productive.
Installed the floor stiffener. Had to figure out a way to hold the aft end of the stiffener up against the floor (remember, fuselage is still inverted) since I didn't have helping hands.
Ran a straightedge thru the flap control holes in the sides of the fuselage, and clamped it in position. Shimmed the space between the straight edge and the stiffener with small blocks of wood to hold it in place, and drilled the initial hole from the top as shown in pic 1 below.
Finished drilling and cleco'ing remaining holes.
Clamped the center gusset in place, pilot drilled, and cleco'd. Still have to locate and drill the fwd and aft gussets holding the ends of the stiffeners. They do a pretty good job of providing support to the wide areas of sheet aluminum and steel.
