Brief Description:  Continued Fwd Fuse Subassemblies

Doesn't seem like a lot of activity for the hours involved.

Spent some time finessing the upper-firewall-to-lower-firewall mating surface. At the longerons, the tab of the firewall needed to be adjusted a bit to fit flush. It fit acceptably without this finessing, but I just wanted it to fit "better."

Next, I removed the aft tunnel zee I had previously placed. I had previously drawn a center line on the fuse floor mounting flange of the zee, to ensure that the zee did not bow during fitment. When I had first installed it, I could not see the line. So, using the fuse floor pilot holes as a template, I used a Sharpie to mark the location onto the zee flange. So, when I removed the zee today, I was able to verify that the dots resulting from my markup were not in a bow arrangement, which they were not. I drew a new line connecting the dots and repositioned the zee in the fuselage. I also used a straightedge inside the zee to confirm that there was no bow to the zee.

Drilled the floor mounting flange pilot holes, then drilled the pilot holes which hold the vertical sides of the zee to the aft wing attach angles (fig 1 below). Lots of drilling.

Next, I installed the tunnel zee clips (fig 2) on the upper surface of the zee.

Lastly, I installed the firewall stiffener. Since I had no assistance, and since I was working inside the fuselage (inverted) on the floor, I had a lot of crawling back and forth to get the centerline I had drawn on the stiffener aligned with the firewall pilot holes.
