Brief Description: Left Rear Spar Attachment Plate
Spent time this evening fitting the attachment plate and root rib angle to the left rear spar.
Drilled the pre-made attachment plate to #40 (only had laser pinholes). Positioned onto the spar; was a bit off regarding the flap control tube hole, which was on the short side of 1-3/8 wide. Drilled a few pilot holes to allow cleco'ing of the attach plate to the spar, then enlarged the hole using the attach plate as a template.
Drilled two sets of rib attach pilot holes into the attach plate using the previously-placed holes in the spar. Fitted the root rib angle .025" outboard from the end of the rib. Drilled and cleco'd. Took the outter 2 holes to 3/16" to allow AN3-7A bolts to secure it.
Only have to take the pilot holes up to #30, debur, rivet and bolt.
