Brief Description:  Windshield installation

After the disappointment of cracking my engine case I needed to get back into something else quickly to get my mind on other things. Not much remains to be done however, the canopy and windshield are one of the last major items on the to-do list.
Anyway, starting with the windshield, this comes oversized and must be trimmed. Also, the windshield bow was made oversized and must be trimmed as well. People on the Sonex forum seem to be in agreement that you should try to get your windshield as high as possible to avoid a "dolphin nose look", so the windshield is only trimmed on the forward side and the bow is trimmed and drilled to match the aft side.
To get the correct dimensions of the bow the windshield was installed as-is and the bow height was then marked to match.
Finally I cut the bow and drilled the 3/16" holes to hold it in place.
You can also see in the picture how much material will need to be trimmed of the forward side of the windshield
