Brief Description: Crack in the engine case, NOOOOOOO!
Last night was one of those nights where it all just went horribly wrong. After finishing the painting I decided to install the fittings for the oil in/outlets on the engine. Basically I over-torqued the fitting for the oil return and cracked the engine case NOOOO!!!!!!!! Not sure what happened, I am usually careful with this stuff.
I took it to a VW specialist this morning to see if the case can be salvaged, no way, it's a write-off. NOOOO!!!! This is going to be an expensive mistake (at least $1000), I will have to buy a new case and rebuild the engine. NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
This is one of those moments where you just want to give up, anyway. I'll have to do something else for a while. Maybe work on the canopy, those things never crack do they?
