Brief Description:  Brakes and wheels

Now that I've got the axles correctly in place, it's time to work on the brakes and wheels installation.
The brakes take a bit of work to get installed correctly, when you install the backing plates on the axles, they typically are not perpendicular with the axles, they need quite a bit of pounding with a mallet to get them straightened up.
I managed to do one tonight but then noticed something else which I'm not sure about.
When installing the wheels on the axle, I know the brake drum is not supposed to cover the backing plate, but it is supposed to cover the brake shoes, so there is supposed to be a little gap.
However that "little" gap seems to be quite big in my case, and even part of the brake shoe is exposed.
I've looked at the plans over and over again and I don't think I'm doing anything wrong (there's not much you can do wrong anyway, pretty straight forward).
I've sent the picture below to Kerry at Sonex to confirm that this is how it's supposed to be, maybe the axle spacers need trimming? (not according to the plans though).
