Brief Description:  Sent pics to Vans of wallowed out hole.

Tonight I helped Colten study for a Biology test and did math fractions and percentages with Tanner in the shop. Tanner being a stubborn little #$%@&, so I wasn't able to do much except take a couple pictures of one of the holes I drilled yesterday.

While drilling the third rib with an aviation bit through the first and second ribs, I ended up wallowing out the 3/8" hole in the second inboard rib to about 3/4" in the oblong dimension. I did a lot of research on VAF.net tonight and I don't think this will be a structural problem, but sent the pictures to Vans support just the same. If they give me the green light, I will reinstall the bushing and continue on.

I need to order some proseal to secure the conduit to the ribs so it doesn't get cut by the ribs over time due to vibration and then I can start riveting the skins on the skeleton, finally.

I went to Sears today and bought a cutting tool with a two notch razor blade. One of the guys on the VAF forums said it does a nice job cutting the plastic tubing straight and square. I tested it a couple times and it looks good. If the ends aren't square, the plastic fittings could leak which would screw up my airspeed, angle of attack, altitude, etc all of which would not be good.
