Brief Description:  Installed conduit, AOA and Pitot tubing

Today I had a good work day. I have been traveling a lot and we have been out of town the past few weekends, so I finally had some shop therapy time. It was a great weekend because the Badgers beat No 1 ranked Ohio State and the Vikings beat the Cowboys today to hopefully get their season back on track. Diane and I ran in a 5K last night and finished in around twenty-six minutes which isn't too bad for me, slow for her but she has some injuries she is working through. Diane read a book in the shop and the boys did homework while we all watched the Vikings game and I worked on the wings.

I installed the second conduit run in each wing by drilling a #30 hole near the lightening holes as called out in Van's wiring and tubing bulletin on their website. I used a wire tie in each hole to secure the conduit inside the rib lightening holes. In the aileron bell crank area I secured the inside conduit to the run that is in the rib hole using wire ties to keep it clear of the moving parts as shown in pic 2.

The next thing I did was to install the snap bushings in the tooling holes near the main spar and then install the green hose for the pitot tube. After that I enlarged another tooling hole to 3/8" and with Colten's help, installed the blue tubing with snap bushings as supplied by Safeair1. This worked out well and makes for a clean installation. Picure #2 shows the fittings on the end of each tube that will connect to the Dynon heated pitot tube with angle of attack (AOA) capability. I have plenty of tubing and will adjust the tubing in the bell crank area after I have the pitot and see how it all fits together.

I am running out of stuff to put in the wings and will start riveting the top skins soon.
