Brief Description:  Finished L Wing Landing Light Lens Install

Today I was able to get some good work time in and completed the left wing light lens installation. Diane was at work, Colten was at a golf meet, and Tanner hung out with me and practiced his skateboarding in the drive way.

I had the lens prepped and ready for install from the last session. I first covered it with making tape to protect it from scratches. I then used the fiber strapping tape as a handle and pulled the lens tight into position. While holding it there with one hand, I drilled the holes with the other. It got progressively easier after I had the first clecoe in to hold it in place.

The next step was to rivet the nutplates on to the brackets. Tanner came and helped squeeze a few of the six rivets. Next I used the supplied two-sided tape on the lens to hold the brackets. The final portion was to apply the foam gasket material around the perimeter of the lens to keep out water. I put it too close to the inside the first time and had to pull it all off and reapply.

Finally, I held the lens in position and installed the screws for final assembly. The last pic shows the lens and mounting bracket as viewed from the front. Overall, this project went pretty well, but took more time than expected which is nothing new I guess.
