Added 2 qts of oil; it's 2.75 capacity, not counting the oil cooler. First, you add 2 qts and let it settle. You then mark the level of the oil on the dipstick as the "low" mark. Next, you add .75 qt, let it settle, and then mark that level as the "high" mark. You then crank the engine over until it develops oil pressure, then add oil to bring it up to the full level. Turns out about .75 qt is taken up by the cooler and oil lines.
