Brief Description:  Brake Cable Routing / Seat Belts

This has been a frustrating week, Sonex-wise. Sunday we lost power at 4:30 AM, and didn't regain it until after 6 PM - no electricity for the drill or compressor, or lights (or fan). Tuesday I had an EAA Chapter Board Meeting in the PM. In the afternoon, I spent the entire time preparing a powerpoint pitch. Our Chapter is presenting information on EAA and Young Eagles to Boy Scouts for their aviation merit badge. Actually, we're one of many presentations, but the only one for recreational aviation.

Tonight, I installed the brake cable housings. I had to cut each side to length (different each side), determine the best routing, and install the cable in the housing. Then I secured the housing to the motor mount using zip ties cushioned with self vulcanizing tape to protect the mount. Installed the cable at the wheels, adjusted, and tested.

Next, I mounted the shoulder belt portion of the seat belts (will post a picture with tomorrow's work). First had to up-drill the mount holes to 5/16". Crawled under the plane in cramped quarters. Deburred. Installed AN5-6A bolts. This is another good reason to not rivet the bottom skin prior to now.
