Brief Description:  Paint Panel, Add Locating Lug (Canopy), Final fitt

I'm at another one of those "sequencing" points in my construction. I didn't want to wire the panel until I had my radios. Couldn't wire until I mounted the components. Couldn't mount without painting first. After painting the panel yesterday, *today* read that the paint isn't really fully dry for 5-to-7 days. It was obvious because the paint was dry to the touch, but it would "ding" easily.

I shot another coat of paint and set it aside for a week.

I then drilled the hole for the canopy locating lug, which keeps the canopy from siding around in the down position. This lug is mounted to the lower edge of the side rail. Once drilled, it must be tapped to 10-32 size, and the lug just screws into position. I should note that based on a prior pilot hole in the side rail, the builder locates the receptacle hole for the lug in the upper longeron.

Lastly, I spent most of the time "finessing" the fit and bend radius of the aft canopy bow. I'm happy with it.

I also experimented with the pre-fab'd radio wiring harness to see just how far the leads would reach. I had wanted to locate the headphone jacks behind the pilot and passenger, but there just isn't enough length. Since it's shielded twisted pair wire, I'm apprehensive about splicing in an extender length.
