Brief Description: Permanent Install of Vertical Stab
Torqued horizontal stabilizer.
Installed nutplates onto fwd aft spar of vertical stabilizer. Countersunk for flush rivets on mating surface to fwd spar of horizontal stab.
Installed vertical stab.
The aft edge of the turtledeck skins typically has to be notched to accomodate the fwd spar of the vertical stab. Not wanting to have a gigantic notch showing once the fairings are installed, I kept it on the small side. Unfortunately, when installing and removing the vertical stab during the fit checks, the edges of the skins on either side of the notch bent in a bit. I've done some preliminary work to straighten them out; interim results are shown below. At worst, a little body filler will help smooth things out before the final paint job, but I don't like doing that. I have some other ideas to help level it out some more that I'll try tomorrow.
