Wow. 12 days without touching the project. I think that's a record. Very frustrating to not get to it. Work was a bear, then we had a day of prep for AirVenture, then off to Oshkosh and a few hundred thousand of my closest friends. Was gone Saturday to Saturday. Sad to come back to reality.
Completed deburr of s/steel upper firewall rivet holes. Cleco'd strap to upper firewall. Buffed windshield strap to remove minor surface blemishes from working it.
Riveted strap to firewall using CCC-42 flush rivets. Plans call for SSC-32 smaller rivets to hold the Southco receptacles to the firewall, but that left nothing of the rivet protruding thru for compression. Used SSC-34 rivets on the 6 Southco installations.
Cut SNX-F17-09 floor stiffener to length (16.25"). Deburred.
Fabricated SNX-F17-11 gusset. Had to cut paper template as no measurements were stated on the plans - said to use the plans as a template. Glued to channel stock with rubber cement, cut, and drilled. Light deburr.
Fabricated SNX-F17-12 aft clip. Twice. First time, cut it correctly, but on the"leg" of the clip I forgot to reduce the flange depth, so mis-drilled the pilot holes. Found another piece of scrap and redid it correctly.
I think just one more clip and SNX-F17 page will be complete.
