Brief Description: Continued Work on Upper Firewall SubAssy
Continued with the blasted stainless steel upper firewall. I hate stainless.....
Visited my neighbor with airplane tools to dimple the 3/32 rivet holes that will hold the Southco retainers.
Up-drilled 11/64" holes in the windshield strap that will ultimately hold the windshield Lexan.
Adjusted flutes on the upper firewall to match the filler box correctly.
Forgot to take the upper firewall to the neighbor's to dimple as well, so made a second trip.
Up-drilled two remaining holes in the windshield strap / upper firewall because previously they did not line up with the flutes that were already placed.
Positioned the filler box onto the firewall; clamped and pilot-drilled. Up-drilled. Removed and deburred. Dimpled the upper flange areas that will mate against the cowling. Reassembled. Popped a few rivets just to hold things together.
Still have to finish riveting the filler box, then complete the deburr of the upper firewall, and rivet that to complete the assembly.
