Received new phenolic today from Wicks. Ripped to 1 9/16 on the bandsaw, then cut to 1 9/16 lengths. Had to remake 3 of them from a few days ago because I didn't secure the blocks adequately when drilling to 1/4" (partway thru block), As a result, there was insufficient block material left to support the CCP-46 rivet that will hold them to the vertical channels.
Tonight, took my time and used the drillpress vise. These things are a PITA to drill as the dust goes everywhere. Kind of like sanding drywall mud. Anyway, I got thru it, so now I have 4 completed fairlead blocks which will support the rudder cables.
Continued working on SNX-F27-01R, the first (forward-most) vertical channel of the aft fuselage. Did some minimal trimming, then marked-up the upper and lower portions in preparation for further bandsaw work and drilling.
